Beginners Drawing Class for Adults
Six week course
Learn to draw at Fremantle Art Works under the guidance of artist and art educator, Paul Jacobs.
This highly entertaining and fun, “Beginners’ Drawing Course” aims to provide you with essential drawing techniques through a hands-on study of the Elements and Principles of Design.
We will be focusing on Point, Line, Tone, Form, Proportion and Perspective.
You will gain the various skills required to produce an exciting still life, landscape, imaginative drawing, and much more. You will be experimenting with a variety of media, including graphite pencil, charcoal, brush and ink, as well as soft pastel.
This course is designed for any individual who desires to "draw-out" their creative potential while having fun doing it!
Lesson Venue, Dates and Time:
All drawing lessons are from 6.30 - 9.00 pm at Fremantle Art Works - Unit 2/14 Cockburn Road Hamilton Hill.
Lesson Dates: Tuesdays - 5th, 12th, 19th, 26th March, 2nd and 9th April 2019
Tools and Equipment:
Fremantle Art Works provides all equipment for every lesson. You will receive a program, class handouts and a glass of wine (or tea or coffee) at the beginning of each lesson!
A maximum of 6 students per class
Course Cost: "Introductory Offer" - $250 for the 6 week course
What to Wear:
A smock or apron to protect your clothes (or clothes that can get messy)
Upon completion of this 6 week course, you should be able to:
recognise that the Elements and Principles of Design are in nearly everything you see, make and do
develop an understanding that Point, Line, Tone, Form, Proportion and Perspective are so important when creating and appreciating drawing
understand and relate to drawing form through the visual study of different cultures and times in history
use art elements and principles in the production of your artwork
use various skills, techniques and processes to complete your own drawings
have fun while creating and displaying your own art work
demonstrate confidence in the knowledge that you are now able to draw, and feel very proud of your creations
