Intermediate 2 Painting Class for Adults

Six-week course (Term 3)

Learn to paint at Fremantle Art Works under the guidance of artist and art educator, Paul Jacobs.

This highly entertaining and fun, “Intermediate 2’ Painting Course” aims to provide you with essential painting techniques through a hands-on study of the Elements and Principles of Design. 

 

We will be focusing on Proportion Texture, Tone, Form, and Colour. 

You will gain the various skills required to produce an exciting floral still life and portrait painting and much more. 

You will be experimenting with a two media – soft pastel and oil paint.

This course is designed for any individual who desires to harness their creative potential while having fun doing it!

 

PLEASE NOTE:

 

Lesson Venue, Dates and Time:

All painting lessons are on Tuesdays from 6.30pm - 9.00pm at Fremantle Art Works - Unit 2/14 Cockburn Road Hamilton Hill. 

Lesson Dates: 

Tuesdays – 23rd and 30th July; 6th, 20th, and 27th August; and 3rd September 2019.

Tools, Materials and Equipment:

Fremantle Art Works provides all equipment and materials for every lesson. You will receive a program, class handouts and a glass or two of wine (or tea or coffee) at the beginning of each lesson! 

 

Class Size: 

A maximum of 5 students per class

 

Course Cost: 

$290 for the six-week course, materials, tools, drinks and nibbles

What to Wear: 

A smock or apron to protect your clothes (or clothes that can get messy)

 

Outcomes

Upon completion of the 6-week course, you should be able to:

·       recognise that the Elements and Principles of Design are in nearly everything you see, make and do

·       develop an understanding that Proportion, Texture, Pattern, Tone, Form, and Colour are so important                   when creating and appreciating painting and other art forms

·       understand and relate to painting through the visual study of different cultures and times in history

·       use art elements and principles in the production of your artwork 

·       use various skills, techniques and processes to complete your own soft pastel and oil paintings 

·       have fun when creating and displaying your own art work

·       demonstrate confidence in the knowledge that you are now able to paint and feel very proud of your                     creations
